He is the son of Sardar Kesar Singh Grewal, a respected Namberdar, and Sardarni Malkeet Kaur Grewal. He completed his matriculation from Malwa Khalsa High School and obtained his graduation degree from Arya College, Punjab University, Chandigarh. Grewal pursued his passion for law and earned a law degree from D.A.V College, Kanpur, affiliated with Kanpur University.
