Violence has no place in Sikhism.

Sikhism, a peaceful religion based on the principles of equality, compassion, and justice, condemns any form of violence. It is disheartening to witness incidents that tarnish the image of the Sikh community, especially when they occur in foreign lands. Recently, a peaceful car rally organized by Australian Indians in Griffith came under attack, highlighting the presence of a few misguided individuals who do not represent the true values of Sikhism. It is imperative for the authorities to take appropriate action to ensure justice and maintain the integrity of our community.

The Car Rally and Attack: Under the supervision of local police, a peaceful car rally took place in Griffith, Australia, organized by the Indian community. This event aimed to foster unity and celebrate the cultural diversity that exists within our communities. Unfortunately, the rally was marred by a cowardly attack on the cars, allegedly orchestrated by members of the Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) organization, associated with Gurpatwant Singh Pannun and Avtar Singh Pannun. Reports suggest that these individuals are puppets of the Pakistani agency ISI. It is disheartening to see the use of violence in an event that was intended to spread harmony.

The Role of Nihangs and Masked Khalistanis: During the attack, it became apparent that swords were used as weapons, endangering the lives of innocent participants. These actions are not reflective of the Sikh faith, which promotes peace and goodwill. Reports indicate that Nihangs, a traditional warrior order within Sikhism, and masked individuals associated with the Khalistan movement were involved in the assault. It is crucial to understand that such acts do not represent the sentiments of the entire Sikh community but are the result of a few misguided elements.

Condemnation and Request for Action: As a member of the Sikh community, I vehemently condemn this act of violence and express my solidarity with the victims of the attack. I extend my gratitude to Waheguru Ji that no injuries were reported during this unfortunate incident. However, it is essential to take immediate action to prevent such incidents from recurring and to safeguard the reputation of the Sikh community.

In light of these events, I humbly request the authorities, including the Prime Minister’s Office (@PMOIndia), the Ministry of Home Affairs (@HMOIndia), the Minister of External Affairs (@DrSJaishankar), the Ministry of External Affairs (@MEAIndia), the National Investigation Agency (@NIA_India), the Director-General of Punjab Police (@DGPPunjabPolice), and Punjab Police India (@PunjabPoliceInd), to initiate a thorough investigation and take appropriate legal action against the perpetrators.

Conclusion: Sikhism is a religion that values peace, equality, and justice. Acts of violence, such as the attack on the car rally in Griffith, are contrary to the teachings of Sikhism and damage the reputation of the Sikh community worldwide. It is our collective responsibility to condemn such incidents and urge the authorities to ensure that justice is served. By upholding the principles of Sikhism, we can create a society where peace and harmony prevail, fostering understanding and unity among diverse communities.
