The assassination of Nijjar, an influential figure within the SFJ in Canada, has led to significant setbacks for Pannu. Holding Indian intelligence agencies responsible, Pannu has resorted to hurling abuses and issuing threats against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

Following the murder of terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who held a prominent position within the SFJ in Canada, Pannu has suffered substantial losses.
